You're invited to worship with us this Christmas Eve at Renewal Church, where we honor the ancient faith, and live it our in modern ways! Services will be held at 2:00pm & 4:00pm. We have a great time of worship planned, with some powerful music, some of your favorite hymns, and even a candlelight singing of Silent Night. Together we're going to be ushered into the story of the birth of God's son, Jesus.

Children's Church is available (age 0 - 4th Grade), and we also love having kids in the worship as well.

SNOW JAM: After each worship service we'll crank up the fake snow machines to make it snow in the worship center for everyone's enjoyment (especially the kids)!

A photo booth will be available for you to capture the moment.

Truly our heart as a community is to gather together to celebrate the magic of the season, and the miracle of the birth of God's son, Jesus. We hope to see you this Christmas Eve as we wish everyone a "Merry Christmas!"

Renewal Church is a Christian community in northwest Denver. In the midst of distraction and misplaced hope, we walk together toward a renewed hope and life in Jesus Christ. We carry on the ancient Christian faith living it out in a modern expression. We are one in ministry with St. John's Denver, a church located right on the park in Denver's Wash Park neighborhood.  We are part of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) church body.

What We Value

  • Being Spirit-Led - While our natural tendency is to be led by our own wants, we value being led by God and His Spirit. When making decisions, we seek God's wisdom in prayer, go to His Word, and discuss with His people.
  • Being a Courageous Community - God frequently reminds His people not to fear but to trust Him. At times, God calls us to actions that can be difficult for the sake of His mission. We are a community that, having sought His will, steps out in courage and trust in Him.
  • Fostering Authentic Relationships - Knowing that our identity rests in Jesus alone, we are free to be open, vulnerable, and authentic with God, one another, and people we encounter. We are a community where people can be honest about their joys and struggles because we know that God loves us and that we love one another.
  • Being a place of Liberating Grace - The radical news of Jesus is that despite all the brokenness in the world and in us, His grace and mercy make us right. Because he has loved us, we share that same grace with one another. Here, people find a community that is willing to walk through challenges, setbacks, and sins with patience, love, and the forgiveness that comes from above.

The Discipleship Pathway
The Christian life is one of abiding in Jesus (John 15:4-5). To abide in Jesus, we focus on these areas.

  • Gather - We gather in weekly worship to hear from God, rejoice in His Words and His gifts, and respond in praise for what He has done.
  • Grow - As Christians, we want to continue to grow in faith, trust, and every good work. We meet in Life Groups and various other studies to deepen our faith.
  • Serve - Our lives were not given to us for our own sake for for the sake of others. As Christians, we live a life of service. We do this through our various ministry teams and external service opportunities.
  • Go - The mission of God to reconcile the world to Himself continues through His Church and its members. Each of us engaged in the task of going to those around us and sharing the good news that Jesus has given Himself to make all things right.

What We're Moving Towards

God's love, grace, and mercy transforms and renews us. We celebrate all that God does in the life of His church, including these marks of the new life he gives us.

  • Renewed Dependency on God's Word and His People - God calls us not to a life of independence but one of depending on Him. We rejoice in relying on Him and receiving those gifts that He has given.
  • Renewed Priority of Time, Energy, and Resources - We believe that all that we have comes from God. He has trusted us to manage well those things He has given. We seek to prioritize these things as God would prioritize them.
  • Renewed Love for the People God Put in My Life - We are called not only to love those that love us or those that are "loveable," but to love all people and see them as people God has called us to serve.

Hey there Renewal community!

Worship services on Sunday 3/14 will be held online only (in-person services canceled). As you know, we have quite a bit of snow coming our way, and want everyone to stay safe out there! Join us for worship online this Sunday at 10am on the homepage of this website, or on facebook at renewaldenver.org/live, or on the "Renewal Church Denver" app.

Renewal Community,

As you know, we held online-only worship services from March 15th - May 31st in order to do our part to combat the spread of COVID-19 and honor our authorities. The authorities allowed us to begin worship in our worship center again on June 7th, so you now have the choice of joining us on campus or on the live stream.

If you come to the Highlands Campus for worship on a Sunday, we have a number of safety precautions that are in place: we strongly recommend that age 3+ please wear masks (unless you have a medical/physical exception), 6ft physical distancing, symptom checks of attendees, no congregating in groups, and a limited capacity of 50 persons in the Worship Center (overflow rooms may be utilized for additional attendees). Those who have symptoms which could indicate COVID-19 may not attend. In addition, those with a medical complication or who are age 65+ are very strongly encouraged not to attend, as 90% of COVID-19 deaths in our state have affected people in the highly at-risk 65+ age bracket. For those unable to attend in person, we look forward to joining in worship with you via the live stream.

Even though we celebrate coming back, know that we likely won't fully be "back" for a year. What I mean is this: people will be making their own decisions about their participation level. Those in our community who are at risk, or concerned about transmission, might continue to worship online for quite some time. Larger events will continue to be restricted. We will also likely face a re-tightening of restrictions if/when there is a 2nd wave of infections. The effects of the pandemic won't be coming to an end anytime soon. For that reason, we will continue to minister differently over the coming year. Our ministry will continue to remain flexible, with a high emphasis on online ministry, maintaining community connections through LIFEGroups, and deploying volunteers to best meet the shifting needs of our community.

Now is the time to demonstrate joy for community and ministry in spite of the changing circumstances, because of the joy we have in the Gospel! May we embrace the promises of God and may we embrace the unique spot He has put each of us in to make a difference during this time.

"For such a time as this!" - Esther 4:14

Peace,
Pastor AJ
